Sepiatone Shoutout

I stumbled across a gallery of work by Parke Harrison called The Architect's Brother' which I find hauntingly beautiful. I adore interesting surrealism and this is amazing. And all in sepiatone. Check it out:

What techniques do you think he is using to pull this off? To me it looks like a combo of painted backgrounds and sculptures tied together seamlessly. I like how he is in the picture as well. So moody, and almost riding the edge of anger or despair, and yet with this underlying seam of hope and whimsy. There's power in there too, but I'm not sure where that comes from. Dr. Seuss meets Tim Burton meets Leonardo.

I think there is a lot of "photoshop-ing" going on in there, but I would have to really see the photograph in my hand to be sure of techniques. My monitors resolution is not so good.

I think Seuss meets Burton is a pretty accurate description.
